ABOUT THE PROJECT






A WONDERLAND OF WORDS!

"A Wonderland of Words" is an eTwinning project that aims to teach and improve students’ vocabulary knowledge in English through a diverse range of interactive, engaging, educational and fun activities besides enhancing their digital, academic and collaborative skills. Through our project activities, learners aged 10-13 will get empowered to take a more active role in their learning process as autonomous learners and retain more new vocabulary. We will incorporate a technology and gamification-based vocabulary teaching method into our project to enrich our educational practices and meet the learning needs of digital natives in this digital era. Every month, students will focus on real-life topics. They will first study and practice new vocabulary through mind maps, word clouds, flashcards, snapwords and then, they will use the vocabulary in various oral and written contexts by preparing online games, role-plays, animations and comics-writing in different web tools.

Our project includes the collaboration and partnerships of hardworking and friendly partner schools from Greece, Italy, Romania, Poland and Türkiye. Our project duration is December 2024 - May 2025.


OUR ROUTINE:

In our project, we follow a routine of learning English practices. 

First, our students discover and study the English words through brainstorming techniques such as Word clouds, Flashcards, Mind-maps and Snapwords.

Then, they practice the words they've learned through making, sharing and playing online educational games.

Finally, they use the new vocabulary in context through making animated videos, writing comics, writing riddles and a piece of diary!


OUR THEMES - TOPICS OF STUDY:

Our project consists of 4 basic themes of study! We take a student-centred approach in our project. We arranged a poll for our students. They chose their 4 most favorite options and decided four main topics to study during our project!

OUR BASIC AIM FOR THE BLOG

Our basic aim in building our blog is to disseminate our project and provide an educational source for learners of English to support their learning process and for teachers of English to enrich their teaching practices. We arranged our Project Blog tabs and menus regarding our main topics.  

Learners and Teachers of English can find educational games, vocabulary study and practice activities in our blog.
